Joe and Kara Working for Northvale

Kara McMorrow

When growing up in North vale, Kara (Armstrong) McMorrow, always loved the small-town feel. It was here that her parents planted roots for their family in the late 70s and raised herself and her brother in this wonderful environment full of hard-working people, dedicated parents and a community of friendship. Now a wife and mother of a 2-year-old daughter, Kara and her husband decided to remain in Northvale. It is this strong desire to give their daughter a very similar upbringing that has fueled the fire to run for Northvale’s Council.

As a graduate of Northvale Public Schools and Immaculate Heart Academy, she continued on to earn a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Scranton, as well as a Masters in Educational Technology from Iona College. Kara realized early on the importance of giving back to her community starting in grade school, as a requirement for Confirmation at Saint Anthony’s Parish. Volunteerism is an integral part of Kara’s life. She has been a member of the Northvale Volunteer Ambulance Corp for over thirteen years, has spearheaded fundraising and event planning committees and currently serves as Vice President. For approximately ten years, Kara worked as an educator, and loved working with both children and staff in both the private and public sectors.  Currently, her professional life is in a corporate office, doing what she loves, planning, organizing, and implementing numerous tasks that ultimately help others. Kara has a strong commitment to seeing projects through from start to finish, possess excellent time management skills, and pays exquisite attention to detail. She is a firm believer in making informed decisions and always doing what is right, even if it’s a difficult choice.

Kara would bring a new and fresh perspective to the Northvale Council. She recognizes all people bring something positive to the community. Diversity is something to be celebrated and that despite our differences; we all have a common sentiment:  Northvale is home. If we take the time to really listen to each other, respect other opinions, keep each other informed, we can all benefit and continue to be proud to say we live in Northvale!
